About me
I have enjoyed art my entire life but didn't begin to paint seriously until after retirement. I like studying about art as much as I enjoy painting. Most of my artwork features still-life compositions. I am especially drawn to arrangements that include glass and reflective objects. I paint in a photo-realistic style in water soluble oils and colored pencils. Both my oil and colored pencil works are rendered by careful application of layers of color with special attention to detail and the contrast between light and dark values. In my spare time, I paint wooden nesting dolls and Santa Claus carvings. I have also written a book "Paint Your Own Nesting Dolls" available on Amazon at www.amazon.com which offers a complete guide on how to paint these charming decorations.
